Academy Merit

The MERIT Series is our high performance directional board that features our new hybrid construction. With its capped tip and tail, combined with the sidewall running lengths, this board features the "best of both worlds" and was designed to accommodate the most serious riders. The Merit Series also features the Carbon Cord Fiberglass Weave (CCFW) which results in a stiffer flex pattern and increased memory camber. Carbon Fiber Cords are woven directly into the tri-ax fiberglass during the production process of the fiberglass, therefore making the carbon fiber and fiberglass as one. This is to eliminate "flat spots" where traditional carbon strips begin and end and the CCFW delivers a true flex curve in the board from tip to tail. This technology has been developed to increase maximum pop for ollies and a quicker reaction response on landings in the park and pipe so you can set up for your next trick. This board also features a more progressive side cut to give you a quicker edge-to-edge energy transfer. Combined with the setback stance, it creates the ultimate freeriding board without sacrificing freestyle technologies. The Merit Series also features the Sintered 4000 base with screen printed die-cut logos, which is not only durable to withstand the rails, but is super fast so you are guaranteed speed. This series will also feature the half inch spaced insert patterns for the optimal stance placement.
