Atomic Cold Smoke, 2006

Description

This all mountain machine is designed for the intermediate to advanced rider who wants to take their all mountain domination to the next level. The D4 construction provides ultra responsive edge grip and control on any type of snow condition. The Truth 3 CNC milled wood core reduces weight and increases acceleration through turns. All that and bad ass graphics with a clear window into different colored stained wood cores - sick!

Strengths: I`ve own this board for two years now and I couldn`t be any happier with it. No matter the type of snow this thing will hold. It performs great in powder and is extremely stable in high speeds. I recommend this board to any intermediate rider looking to improve his riding.

Strengths: Solid and good looking board. Good in powder and on the piste, good to learn to carve in and although fairly stiff not so much its no good for beginners-intermediates. Best at piste and powder, not so good in teh park as not really light or flexible enough but by no means impossible! Quite fast and busts through the crusty stuff. A good choice for a beginner / intermediate as stable in carve, a little forgiving, fairly versatile for those working out there style. Generally can be had for a bargain too (paid £150 so about $200). Good at high speeds so genuine all rounder. Solid base so will last well.
Weaknesses: Rode a K2 Podium, almost twice the price and compared to that was on the heavy/stiff side. Having said that the K2 was a lazy board really and this was more of an aggressive board, felt happier carving on this and went faster but not as much scope for tricks and spins etc. Nothing to put you off for this price. If you want a top notch board then spend the money and get one, if you want a good intermediate all round board and don`t want to pay the earth this is a great choice.
